Turtle runs at 55 feet per second. Rabbit runs at 80 feet per second, but gives turtle a 5 second head start off.
Please provide detailed information as to how you got your answer. In other words, show your operate.

so, at the starting the turtle runs 5 seconds at a speed of 55 feet per second, that’s 275ft…. I dare hope you don’t need me to explain this a single…
So the equation describing the position of a particular animal is
p=vt+d
p is the distance from starting point, v is speed t is time in seconds and d is the starting distance
turtle: p=55t+275
rabbit: p=80t
so given that p on each equation are equal when they meet, we have
55t+275=80t
275=80t-55t
275=25t
275/25=25t/25
t=11
So they meet following 11 seconds for the rabbit or 16 seconds for the turtle since it started five seconds ahead.

because i want to get my rabbits a hutch for outside, and i’m not sure how it will work out during the winter with temp below 0 sometimes. i could move the hutch to the garage.

Rabbits do need a place to get warm, be it a burrow in the wild, or a warmed box inside the hutch. Or, as you mentioned, placed in the garage, as long as no vehicle’s exhaust clouds around them. Also, since rabbits need water, you’d have to keep the water warmed, or it will freeze.
As far as the rabbit being able to survive extreme cold, I would guide you to read an answer from another question here on Yahoo! Answers (see the “best answer” from the first source). It pretty much tells how rabbits survive different climates.

Why don’t you just buy a normal hutch? Cats can climb anyway so whether its on the ground or not doesn’t really make too much of a difference for them. As long as it is strong and can close securely the cat won’t be able to open it anyway.
